Dear Colleagues,

Please forgive me if you receive this message more than once.

I am writing you to announce an edited book called "Designing
Instruction with
Learning Objects" to be published by the Association for Educational
Communications & Technology, and invite you to submit a chapter for
inclusion in
the volume. The purpose of the book is to provide information regarding
the design, development, implementation, discovery, combination,
delivery, management and evaluation of learning objects, as well as
information regarding other relevant topics such as technical standards,
philosophical considerations, intellectual property
policies, and research or case studies involving learning objects. The
book is intended to be a comprehensive introduction to the topic for
professionals working in online instruction, computer-based instruction,
distance education, instructional design, and related areas.

If you are interested in submitting a chapter, please forward the
following information to book@wiley.byu.edu as soon as possible. (This
will help us decide whether or not to make a general call for chapters
at the annual AECT conference beginning on the 16th.)

o Chapter topic
o Approximate length
o Abstract (75-250 words)

If you believe you would be interested in using a book like this for one
or more of your courses, please indicate the approximate number you
would anticipate using within the first year of its publication.

I feel certain that I have overlooked someone in extending this
invitation. If someone you feel should have received this invitation did
not, please send me their name and e-mail address. If you have any
questions regarding the book, please send them along as well. I look
forward to hearing from you!

Cordially,

David Wiley
