My colleague Dr Andrew Wallace and I work in the Faculty of Education,
Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia.
Charles Sturt University is a major provider of distance education programs
in Australia, with a long history of involvement in electronic support of
teaching and learning via the Internet. You may like to visit to the

Our areas of interest and research span the use of technology to enhance
the learning of students in schools, technical colleges, and industry. We
have both been involved in On -Line support for both our on campus and
distance education students. Our areas of particular interest are:
* computer self efficacy and its implications for computer usage
*the use of satellite technology to assist the learning of isolated students
*evaluation of the effectiveness of On-Line Delivery of Education and
Training
*the gaps between the rhetoric and the reality of On Line delivery and
support for education and training
*the emerging communication styles created by the new technologies
*the new relationships between learners and teachers/trainers which are
FACILITED BY THE USE OF ON-LINE TECHNOLOGIES
*the application of the new technologies to tertiary teaching and the
impact on the learners and the teachers
We are travelling to America in April to present the results of our research
at the AERA Conference in New Orleans. We would also like to take advantage
of our time in the US to visit New York and Boston ,and we were wondering if
you would be available to meet with us to exchange information and
experiences in the use of the internet to support teaching and learning, and
to explore possible joint research which might involve collaboration between
CSU and MIT.
Further we were wondering if you could also point us in the right
electronic direction by providing details (EMAIL ADDRESSES)of appropriate
people who are also working in areas related to our research and teaching
interests.
