Hi Bernard,
What you're proposing seems straightforward enough. You might want to
consider the format of your downloadable materials -- *.PDF files are
non-editable (difficult for the material to be, er, "stolen"), ideally
should be printed rather than read off screen, and require the free
Abode Acrobat reader. *.RTF files and Word *.DOC files are editable,
are more easily read from the screen, but require a compatible word
processor. *.DOC files however can carry a virus payload, and also
have revision history and other information embedded in them which you
may not want others to receive.
But I'd encourage you to look up from the strict "delivery" issue, and
ask how the Web format can enhance your student's learning. Simply
re-packaging existing materials for a different delivery mechanism is
unlikely to do anything except give your courses a temporary "image" of
being high-tech, and add to your costs. (I assume you will not phase
out the print-based materials, so you will be running with "double" the
editing and revision load.)
Best of luck. Lester
