IN discussing the Gaian Paradigm we see the comment, in part,
>>>.... the deepest and most fundamental change in our worldview in
5000 years. <<<<<<<
leading to the conclusion, in part, >>>>>As long as we concentrate on
the new technology and not the new knowledge we will only make the
society fall faster and faster into oblivian.<<<<<<
Key to this discussion is "our worldview" and where "we concentrate"
and whether society is falling "into oblivian."
Does the belief of one or several or many constitute a "worldview"?
Events were cited as evidence to allow inferences of what certain
periods of time were like. Does the fact that x teenagers watch tv or
play wrong or kill people make that the world or generational situation?
Does the fact that crusaders killed while claiming a certain motive mean
that other people who label themselves the same cultura, religion
or whatever would kill others?
Inside each of us are the pieces and patterns to do or not to do what
others did, are doing or could do.
Inside each of us is the means to recognize and acknowledge truth for
the greater well being of all of us for ever or to claim and act in
opposition to the truth to achieve or avoid certain short term outcomes in
lieu of the longer term
As I was raised, I accepted certain information, questioned other
information and outright rejected some information. Over time, I learned
research, about the bible, the constitution, the magna carta, that history
is one or several people's impressions of what happened. Most
important, I learned that only everyone over an eternity might have all the
parts to contribute to what the picture for a second in time was and
what it's impact was on eternity.
Most important, from whatever source, I begin to learn certain truths that
applied physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and across all time
and space. Most important about this kind of learning, I noticed that
people who believed in absolute truths tended to be role models who
seldom acted impetuously, or tried to frighten people to action or who
would even accidentally hurt people. They help others by role modeling
and reasoning rather than force or oppression, physical or
phsychological.
People who think some new "leader" on the scene has just discovered
the answers may concentrate on a "quick fix" by whatever name, not
realizing that they believe they have more than the accumulated wisdom
of all of the people for all of the generations prior. People do act on what
they believe to be true, that doesn't change what the truth is. It does
change whether they believe not hurting one person leads to a behavior
which benefits all in the long run versus believing hurting a few people
will help all in the long run, which actually opens all to oppression in the
long run.
We are headed for oblivion when a critical mass of us believe we have
the answer, and its new, rather than realizing the answers always have
existed, to what degree are we in accordance with the answers.
I would define "oblivion" as ceasing to exist. As we kill off parts of
ourselves, we are headed for oblivion. If each of us works to build up
the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual sides of each of us,
we are growing. If a critical mass of us to in a short-term act to
accumulate for ourselves at a cost to others, we are heading for
oblivion. That is not new knowledge or a new truth. What would be
new would be a universal desire to understand and apply that
knowledge: and that would be wisdom.
