"But why do you call that "programming"? It is not possible to "program" the
human the way you program a computer. This metaphor seems to be based in
some misconception. Don't you think so?

Anyone who has read Margaret Mead, Elise Boulding, or John Dewey must
recognize that we are all programmed by our cultures. We accept as
unfailing truisms that are not only not truisms by lead us into folly (to
use Barbard Tubman's concept.} Riane Eisler has made much of this in her
analysis of the "Dominator Paradigm" which has become the dominant and
domineering world view only because of the power of the sword (technology)
the flag (Nationalism) and the cross (religion.)

The program started with the Jewish Creation Myt that the universe was
created fro the use of man (and I mean MAN). The Greeks extended the
concpet with the dictum the "man is the measure of all things." the
Inquisition made heresy to think otherwise and burned 1 million withches at
the stake (mostly women) to impress it on society. Columbus started the
spread of the Dominator Paradigm world wide during the age of "discocery"
and colonization. Adam Smith started the trend to make it the ethical base
of our EuroAmerican culture with his concept that by "self-interest" and an
"Unseen hand" economics would solve all of our social and ethical problems.

Nearly every word in our English language is part of our programmind, as it
is in any culture. It is only by recognizing how much we are programmed
that we can rise above it.

Fortunatley for the future of humanity science is revealing in chaols,
complexity and Gain theories a new social paradigm, The Gain Paradigm. It
show that everything is dependent on everything else. The is the deepest
and most fundamental change in our worldview in 5000 years.

Also fortunately new technologies are making it possible for humanity to act
in accordance with the Gain Paradigm.

IFETS has a big problem in leading this new understanding in the creation of
a fundamentally different learning system.
