Abstracts for presentations from knowledgeable professionals
in industry, government, public education, colleges and
universities are solicited to provide a comprehensive program to
include ways to implement technology, methods to obtain funding,
descriptions of education and skills learning applications which
are a high priority, and methods to build and manage consortia to
achieve this. Attendees and speakers would include, but not be
limited to, the following:
* University and Community College professionals
* School Board members
* State and local education professionals
* Education/training facilitators
* Hardware and software systems manufacturers
* Community and school representatives
* Technology-based systems manufacturers and integrators
* Publishers and distributors of educational software
* Consultants
The submissions should be in the form of individual presentations,
panel discussions, and preconference tutorials. Topics of interest
include:
Technology Systems
* Distance vs distributed learning
* Internet services and systems
* Uses of the web in delivering education
* Technology in international learning systems environments
* Technology in the Fine Arts and Humanities
Knowledge Management
* Knowledge Management in learning systems
* Management tools for administrators
* Data warehousing and data mining in an academic environment
Technology in Education Environments
* Learning about new technology/vendor presentations and
demonstrations
* Tools for teacher training in technology
* Ways that technology can affect education
* Entry level skills education
* Use of technology in magnet schools
* Classroom uses of technology-based learning
Partnering and Funding Source Development
* Application of technology to generate new income for the
educational organization
* Building business and partnering alliances
* Funding raising by corporate and community collaborations
Abstracts
Please submit abstracts of your proposed presentation up to 150
words per topic suggested and identify whether it would be a
presentation, half-day tutorial, or panel discussion. A proceedings
will be prepared and you should indicate whether you will provide a
paper prior to the conference which will be included in the
proceedings. Submissions should be received by December 31,
1999. Be sure to include the author's name, title, organization,
