Wendy Lowe asks, in part: >>>>is there a point at which the
dialogue takes over and the original learning objectives are
compromised?<<<<

Is the issue the "original learning objectives" or the more basic or
fundamental "living objectives" in which learning objectives have a
context?

Too often we forget our original objective(s), basically to apply or to
grow the relational mortar or interface between us that enables each of
us to increase and improve each others' lives and our own through our
individual contributions and interactions.

As we allow materialism and commercialism to distract us, we become
more concerned with the monetary and physical and shortterm bottom
lines. We want to rush the "education" the "socialization" the "maturity"
of those entrusted to us to increase our "profits."

If someone is choking and my dialogue about how to save the person
interrupts the planned class and classroom learning, are the "original"
"objectives" lost or enhanced?

For the kids who are killing their classmates, has the lack of dialogue in
their lives and in their classrooms, have the "original" "objectives" been
lost or enhanced?

If a class is completed in the allocated time at the allocated cost and good
grades are achieved by all in regurgitatin the material offered, but pre
and post testing show that none of the students have made any gains in
competencies, interpersonal skills or in their ability to apply lessons
learned in one of lifes areas to others of life's areas, have the "original"
"objectives" been lost or enhanced?

For individuals who have totally sequestered themselves to study one
issue at the cost of family and social lives, have the original objetives
been lost or enhanced?

If the doctoral theses you read today, when they are summed up by the
noneducated in two or three sentences of common logic, prove no more
than that common logic, are we losing or enhancing our original
objectives?

The objectives life and learning are to enhance our relationships and the
quality of our relationships. As long as the facilitated dialogue has those
as its objectives, the secondary immediate shortterm objectives will be
enhanced because the more basic importance and significance of the
particular class will, at worst, be subconsciously realized, and, at best,
be consciously realized and emulated.

Faithfully,

Dennis
