Thanking David and the DUC list, once again, I recommend this link and related
list referenced for anyone interested in the commodification of information
and the various activities of informatically mediated culture.
There is much dicussion, for example, in academe concerning the varous rights
and property claims on the part of the various players (teachers, learners,
departments,Unis, venture capitalists, et al--these days ya might need a score
card to keep track of the UUP deliberations...hooooooboy!) concerning content
and other aspects of asynchronous and other forms of WEB-mediated Distance
Learning venues in the modern corporate University. As we've seen recently *On
the Horizon* list and at the 5th ALN Conference, and in between the covers of
The Chronicle of Higher Education--none of these issues are settled or set in
chert, yet, if ever they will be.
These references will certainly aid in the dissemination of issues, claims,
and concerns concerning DL, electronic publishing, and other forms of
informatic trade and venues... ;-} rap.
