Dear colleagues

Our discussion on "The Role of Computer Programming in Education from
Young Children to Doctoral Students" has now formally closed (the list
is always open to discuss the issues as long as you wish). Many thanks
to all active and receptive participants, and specially to Ken Kahn for
moderating the discussion and Harriette L. Spiegel for beautifully
summarising it. The final summary of the discussion will be published in
the October issue of ET&S journal.

Our next discussion will be on the topic:
-- "Flexible Learning: Can we really please everyone?" --

during 4 till 17 October 99. The pre-discussion paper is available on IFETS
website, and will also be sent to this list in due course.

I am also pleased to inform you that October 99 issue of ET&S journal is
shaping very nicely on the theme (Guest Editor: Chris O'Hagan, Dean of Learning
Development, University of Derby, UK):
"Embedding Ubiquitous Use of Educational Technology: is it possible, do we want
it, and, if so, how do we achieve it?"

I shall inform you once the issue is available on journal's website:

Regards.
