Um, I wouldn't go that far. While I have far-reaching views on myth,
here I simply argue that there is overlap between art and myth. Myth
is a cultural construction; an integrated set of stories that provide
meaning to our existence (see Joseph Campbell). As a construction,
it properly involves art. Similarly, art uses representations to
reflect upon our culture, including our myths. Even so far as to
directly incorporate our myths.

And as long as this arose from a discussion of art and science:

Science, on the other hand, is largely immune to our overarching
myths (though there are myths about science), or so I sadly believe.
I think there is importance in understanding our need for myth and
ritual (which fundamentally grounds our belief system through
action). In the same way that people seek to link art and science, I
also think we should link myth and science. Scientists have an
unexamined myth about their role in society, and that intrinsic blind
spot needs exploration.
