Could people please post examples of systems and techniques that have proved
successful and efficient in supporting 'increased individual feedback'? And
say why this was the case. ben

What worries me about all this online interactivity, with
teachers monitoring and contributing to complete online discussions
is that it is probably an incredibly inefficient use of the teacher's
time and lacking the value that structured individual feedback on a
substantial item of 'performance' can give. If the use of technology
increases the workload on staff, and there is a lot of evidence of
this in the early use of online learning, then it is relatively
worthless. However, I actually think technology can increase
efficiency and quality at the same time, and enable extra student-
