The Clark thesis reminds us that much of the 'effects research' is
essentially flawed. It also raises some deep issues about appropriate
research methods for the study of social science. However, Gavriel Salomon
argues that new educational technologies are not neutral. The following
publication outlines how media affects the mind:

Salomon, G. (1997). Of mind and media: How culture's symbolic forms affect
learning and teaching. Phi Delta Kappan, 78 (5) 375-380.
