Associate Lecturer in Multimedia

Southern Cross University invites applications for an Associate Lecturer
position in the School of Multimedia and Information Technology at the Coffs
Harbour Campus. The School is a growing and dynamic academic unit
responsible for research and coursework degree programs ranging from
Bachelor, Master and Doctorate levels in Multimedia and in Information
Technology. These programs are offered in traditional on-campus mode,
distance learning modes and at international off-shore centres.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake teaching, unit
coordination and contribute to curriculum development in the undergraduate
Multimedia programs offered by the School, as well as participating in the
broader teaching, research, management and organisational activities of the
School. The successful applicant will also be required to participate in
the development and application of new technology for the delivery of the
School's courses.
Ideally, the appointee should possess the following qualifications, skills,
abilities and experience:
An honours degree or equivalent professional standing in Multimedia,
Education, Information Technology or other relevant discipline area;
experience with the design and development of multimedia applications
(Director experience highly regarded); experience in the creation of
graphical, audio and video elements for multimedia resources; experience
with the use of multimedia resources for on-line or web-based delivery;
experience with cross-platform delivery; effective communication and
teaching skills; current awareness of issues confronting the digital
culture; previous experience in teaching undergraduate classes for degree
level courses; ability to collaborate in a cross sectoral environment; and
an awareness of equal opportunity and the principles of equity and access
as they pertain to students.
