I have sympathy with the non-dualistic ontology that is wrapped up in this
Gaia philosophy, but being possessed and obedience is not what education is
about. It is however in part about possessing knowledge and understanding
without domination, it is about challenging those who use it for power and
control, and it is about tolerance both of others viewpoints and beliefs
but also maintaining an intolerance of intolerance.

We cannot rest in the cosy arms of faith and believe that it will be alright
in the end. As adults we need to be constantly vigilant, active and
participate in the process of making meaning.
