Dear Ania,
You ask:
Is technology capable of
>assisting our students to think, gain power, feel empowered etc.? How do
>we achieve this or how can we enable these things to happen.
And I reply with another quibble; surely it is not up to teachers to
enable students to feel empowered. Students do this for themselves, and
it is the technology that helps them. I have been tutoring electronic
students for some years, and the first empowerment comes when the student
has mastered the new medium! The next benefit is when the student
realises they have an audience for their written work. I would like to
know how other electronic teachers assess the value of this aspect of the
electronic forum?
