<<Ania has dropped the gauntlet...>>
I am happy to pick up the gauntlet, though I feel a little like Sisyphus,
chasing his boulder down to the bottom of the hill, contemplating the rather
wearisome prospect of re-tracing a lot of previously covered ground, with,
judging by the last debate on the nature of truth, little prospect of
getting straight answers to straight questions.
Ania writes that she wishes to <<ensure that it is creativity that is
encouraged rather than obedience to the regimes of Truth>>
By way of picking up the gauntlet, I should like to ask Ania:
Are all creations equally valuable?
...and by way of a flippant aside, it occurs to me that NASA's current
troubles might possibly be attributable to the 'substantive' influence of
Ania and her school in their training department. I hear that they have been
creating some big bangs on Mars recently (thin atmosphere permitting).
Perhaps the dismay of the American tax-payer at stories of incompetence in
the engineering department could be assuaged if, instead of 'incompetence',
we could induce the media to talk of 'emancipation from obedience to the
regimes of Truth', and to demonstrate that it is no part of modern education
to peddle the 'institutionally approved model of the required competence'.
