Hi Cheryl and IFETS Forum,

In reply to Dr.Cheryl Willhite....

----
The Internet is really an expanding frontier -the combination of information
influx and expansion of software functionality and the rapid growing
number of computers on the system make it unlike we have ever encountered
bofore. As to the degree of freedom such a system allows- it will be
impossible to prevent information from becoming accessible once it is
placed in the network. In just the last 5 years I have been stunned by the
amount of information that is discoverable -many copies of the same thing
are found in many places, making it impossible to eradicate.

Of course, disinformation is similarly present and similarly hard to
eradicate, so we are going to have to work harder and harder to identify
quality information from disinformation. Authentication of sources will be
critical. So, there is still great deal of work to be done to make the
Internet the tool it can and should be.

Kind Regards
Arun Tripathi
