The idea that using software is comparable to reading and that creating
software is comparable to writing is a sound one. Students never get out
of "bootcamp" when it comes to conceptual learning. The process idea
rather than the final product or object is one fitted for children's
learning. However, adults evaluate objects, and not easily or without
great conscience. If we could get out of the middle American work ethic
of "no frills" we could unleash light years of free-flowing creativity -
especially in these unfettered minds. The great inventors and creators
hate being dissected and evaluated. Technology is going to release this
creative energy in our children.
