You might be interested in exploring O*NET if you haven't already. It's
the U.S. D. of Labor's
replacement for the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (electronic) and has
most occupations
broken down into job characterisitics and tasks and you can do some
interesting things with
it. If you're interested, I can put you in touch with the developers.

George
i like your idea about young peoples involvement in creation
I work at an FE college and am currently developing some flexible learning
materials for 14-17 year olds which will inform them of voc, training and
post-16 career options.
I am keen to get a group of young people involved in developing the
materials so that they are user friendly, attractive to young people- its a
chance for a group to develop their IT skills.
The plan is for these materials to be on-line and therefore voc ed (and
accreditation) to become more accessible (and this includes its
presentation) to young people who are not attending school, with a view to
re-engagement.
I welcome your ideas?
Mike
