Alan,
Most likely this is a hoax. I don't think there are any software hooks
that allow for a virus to be transmitted simply by reading email.
The only email virus that worked was based upon programming the
macro-keys of a long extinct type of ASCII terminal.
I would wait for confirmation before passing this information along.
