represents the Global Learn Day Project, which in the second year. This is
a global project, which tries to fulfill all the promises of Distance
Education. It is a return voyage to the new world of Distance Education.
This project is sponsored by Benjamin Franklin Institute of Global
Education. On October 10 and 11, 1998, we will host Global Learn Day II,
a worldwide Event (240 participating countries) with these Missions:
To firmly establish the second Sunday of October as a day to
celebratelearning in every corner of the globe; and To bring together, in
cyberspace, the leaders of distance education, training, conferencing,
Internet technology and public service for the purpose of extending
education to every corner of the globe; to improve its content by way of
the new technology tools; and to pave the way for substantial cost
reductions in its delivery. We seek volunteer interns to join us on our
round-the-world Voyage, October 10 and 11. Here are intern positions that
need to be filled immediately, We WANTED Tireless sailors to develop
email list of editors of English language newspapers around the world. We
have the website for each of these newspapers. What we need is someone
who will endeavor to make "personal" contact with editors from Afganistan
to Zaire.
GLD2 WANTED Tireless sailors to help induce others to join our Web Hosting
Program. This entails contacting Internet Service Providers, World Trade
Centers, Campus Book Stores, Libraries around the world to ask them to
display our "Set Sail" banner and/or hold physical celebrations on Global
Learn Day II. GLD2 WANTED Tireless sailors to ensure that all seacrh
engines dealing with "conferences" appropriately list Global Learn Day II
on their listing.
GLD2 WANTED Tireless sailors to ensure that each page of our WebSite has
accurate has correct name, phone number and fax number. Also to proof
read all pages on our site to ensure spelling is accurate and that
appropriate changes in mistakes are corrected. GLD2 WANTED Tireless
sailors who can contact individuals on college campuses who aid those who
wish to work abroad. In this connection, sailors are also wanted to
contact editors of various college newspapers around the world to ensure
proper coverage of Global Learn Day on British, North American campuses,
Australian and New Zealand campuses. They also WANTED Tireless Secretary
to the Captain to help manage Captain's Desk, set appointments, contact
special jouralists.
