Hello to Kinshuk and fellow forum members,
My name is Ed Cooper and I am an associate professor and program director of
accounting and information management at Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA
USA. My particular interest is in distance and web-based education. I have
developed and am currently teaching four courses leading to an online
accounting certificate. We currently have a dozen courses offered online for
normal college credit. After two years of experience we have begun to offer
these courses "on-demand" meaning that they can be started at any time and
be completed within an eight to sixteen week period. I am particularly
interested in tools which will make course management more efficient because
of the number of students in various stages of course completion at any one
time.
I firmly believe that while the internet and world wide web are only tools
in the teaching toolbox, they will have a dramatic effect on the future of
global education. I look forward to participating with all of you.
