Dear forum members
Besides Ruth Clark and Dennis Dicks, some other forum
members have also emailed me about the problem of the
forum mail overwhelming their systems. On one hand, the
traffic shows the widespread awareness and interest in the
problems raised in the forum, on the other it calls for some
steps to control the traffic as it fills up the email boxes,
especially if you are away for even a couple of days.
As I mentioned before, the digest feature, which will be installed
in about 10 days from now, would allow one day's mail to be
combined in to one mail rather than the individual mails arriving
separately. This should calm the traffic substantially. I am aware
that this is the holiday season and the traffic could increase
towards the later part of the year.
I am therefore setting up a 'Web-Based Discussion' so that
all formal discussions can be conducted there. The first formal
discussion ends on 12th August, so kindly bear with me till then.
If the members do not have any objection, I am hoping to move
the second formal discussion on to the Web.

Please let me know (Use the email address ifets-info@gmd.de
to avoid crowding the discussion even more) if you have any
reservations or objections regarding Web-Based Discussions.
