Tom A. posed some questions, in part, below:
>>>As a person who is a learner, I make a decision as to why and how
As a teacher what is my responsibility to the learner?
In today's society, the learner gets evaluated-
In today's society, the teacher also gets evaluated.
[Do these] matter?
why and why not? and what are the consequences and alternatives?

Do your questions raise some fundamental issues? e.g., what is
the purpose of our existence?
If by anyone's standards we are perfectly learning what we chose to
learn, being perfectly taught by a perfect instructor, and being perfectly
evaluated as perfect by our learner and teacher evaluators in what we
are learning, it sounds good. But if amidst all that perfection what we
are learning leads to our individual, collective or world stagnation, harm
or destruction, does the perfection matter?
Aren't the real issues to what purpose do we exist, what do we
need to be or become to better serve that purpose, what is the gap
between what we are and need to be, and how do we bridge that gap?
These and subsequent questions seemingly would help us establish the
foundation to assess our learning and teaching and related decisions
and evaluations.
Thoughts?
