I am an Instructional Designer working for an Irish-based
cmpany.
We design and deliver so-called "Soft Skill" training over
the internet.
Could I have a URL of a site?
Has anyone out there come across any learning theories
specifically relating to "Soft Skills" training?
I have looked into theorists such as Gagne, Merrill, Mager,
Bloom, tc.. but they all seem to be centred on either
pedagogy or IT training.
Fiona,
Gagne, Bloom etc suggest list of events or Taxonomies as
guidelines for the design and development of Instructional
programs using Interactive Multimedia technologies. These
include CBT, CDROM and Web based systems. Tom and Patricia
Reeves have published a set of proposed dimensions on Web
based educational systems. Learning theories however such as
Instuctivist and Constructivist modes of learning, I
believe, have most importance in; 1. The type of Educational
or Training system, 2. The user or target audience, 3. The
aims of the instructional system, and 4. The support and
facilitation systems. This is very brief but if anyone
(Fiona) wants further discussion they may reply to IFETS or
to my email:
