"Incidentally, there is a university in a developing country purchasing
programs from the Discovery Channel and the British Open Univesity will be
providing a course on the Pacific Rim where many of the materials have been
also delivered over commercial television, indicating the level of quality"

Hopefully, Tom your last comment "indicating the level of quality" was meant
as a compliment to the quality of programming now being produced for
commercial broadcast. Greystone and a number of other producers of
documentary material for resale to the commercial market have created some
excellent, well-researched programs that not only provide a learning
experience but hold the viewers attention with authentically costumed
reenactments, dramatic readings and superb visuals - a far cry from the
traditional "educational" films inflicted on students in the past.
