To further compound the problem is the Skinner label of Instructional
Technology and the use of educational technology to describe the design
of curriculum and maybe not even consider the use of "technology" or as
Dale Mann calls it "computer-related-technology". My students often
find it troubling. They take courses in instructional design and then
enter a class on automation and networking and find new definitions for
"technology". Some students being exposed to Heinich/Molenda etc...
immediately think of audio-visual, cameras, and and other equipment.
When we start talking about technology planning for instructional
support its as if they have to learn new meanings to existing knowledge
base of terminology.
