I agree with Ken Myers from NetG that:

Why do people (not Ken) persist in applying the word "virtual" to
technology assisted/mediated learning? Why is it seen as a virtue
(!) for the word virtual to be attached to so many initiatives in
this area? Yet we all know that deep learning feels (and is)
utterly real, and is never "virtual", and that one key point about
the use of ICT to support learning is in order to make the process
more effective, real, quicker, deeper etc.
