How does one recognize when students are still trying to achieve?
How does one recognize when students have actually demonstrated mastery?
How does one prepare to teach a class s/he has never met?
Don't teachers have to be learners, albeit of a different proximal
developmental level, in order to respond to growth in students?

You may be referring to standards here; I'm not sure. However, content
standards and lesson objectives do not completely prepare a teacher for the
intricacies of reading individual personalities in a classroom. In this
respect, we must all remain students, if we truly wish to teach one another.

Sincerely,
Lora Kaisler
