"Classroom Dynamics: Implementing a Technology-Based Learning
Environment (Erlbaum Associates, 1994), by Ellen Mandinach and Hugh
Cline,
describes a multi-year project called Systems Thinking and Curriculum
Innovation. The project revolved around a classroom-friendly computer
implementation of
the MIT System Dynamics Group's "Structural Thinking
Experiential Learning Laboratory with Animation" (STELLA) software.
This is rigorous systems thinking at its most precise and detailed
level.
The book describes this work in detail and the trials and tribulations
of trying
to make something work under the constraints of ongoing schooling. A
chapter "Technology and Patterns of Teacher Adaptation" is especially
interesting.

If you want to follow up (explore the availability of software, etc.)

"Would any members have any knowledge as to how schools could implement
systemic thinking strategies? snip I was hoping some knowledge would
be
out there about systems approaches
in education. Any ideas?"
