Absolutely, let's shut out everyone who is not as articulate, keyboard savy,
or neat as we are. Of course, we might miss folks like Paul Erdos, Albert
Einstein (where did he get that haircut, anyway), Vonnegut, Van Gogh, and
about 80% of the computer scientists under 40. But that seems a small price
to pay for neatness and staying within the lines.

Nick Kearney said in part
Somebody came to my office the other day, told my secretary that he and I
had things in common and that he'd like to talk to me, for just a few
minutes.
And yet, I was troubled by his behavior. He paid little attention to
his accent (which was not local), his grammar was poor, and the basic
composition of his sentences was faulty. Furthermore his suit was rather
dirty and his tie was askew. I won't mention his haircut. He set out
hisargumentsin a rather clumsy way, kept repeating himself,
and I lost patience. Threw him out. Told my secretary not to let any more
like that in. I want to talk to people like me I said. I can't be bothered
to make the effort, they play by _my_ rules or they don't play.
