Few objects or entities have inherent disadvantages. Our perspective is
more to find how a specific object or entity fits or works with all others
than to weigh each entity against our expectations, wants or needs.
So when we speak of technology, are we speaking of Technology
disadvantages, shortcomings, or issues to be addressed by other than
technology or using technology as a tool?
I believe it's the latter: a tool to help us self-acuate, not an individual
answer to self-actualization.
What might maximize the development of each of our potentials would be
a successive number of mentors. The change in mentors would be
driven by our growth either beyond the mentor or our movement to other
than the current mentor's field.
Technology and its associated networks and tools might speed our
activities and interactions, and keep us closer in touch with our mentors
when physical presence is not required.
We can focus on the difficulties in commiting to these relationships and
never accomplish them, or we can focus on overcoming the obstacles
and strengthen, rejuvenate and regenerate our world.
