Murray Turoff has written an interesting paper where he developes the
economics of a university where all the faculty are masters- a small
nucleus of grand masters paid, perhaps 100K or more per year and
supported by a staff to put virtual space in place for these masters. A
very cheap and efficient way to get the best to the world at current
prices
Interestingly, a production line version of this is the practice of the
Open University of the UK designed to mass market this idea
thoughts?
