Okay, I'll take the bait! Mark, can you expand for me a bit on the concept
that accessibility is not about effectiveness? I would contend that
effectiveness is quite dependent on your content actually reaching the
intended recipient(s). =o).
In fact, is effectiveness not essentially a measure of how well you are
'reaching' your audience (in the wider meaning of the term)?
I understand 'accessibility' to cover all the variables we as educators
would normally consider in delivering 'learning resources' [I've re-phrased
that term 3 times now & I'm still not sure I've got it right] to any target
audience, from the very obvious (can they use it - i.e. hear / see /
understand / respond) to the more subtle (have we presented it in a way that
feels achievable, relevant, worthwhile; is it easy / hard to assimilate;
does it suit the experience & expectations of the audience).
