Hello Mary,
You have raised some significant issues. Here in India, the radio is being
used for formal as well as distance education programmes. In fact the Govt
of India has given approval for establishing some FM stations exclusively
for students of Open Education. Then we have Interactive Radio counselling
wherein the experts answer the calls received from students, the students
can speak to the studio thru toll free numbers in various places. Yes, here
we find that certainly the use of radio for educational purposes has
affected the social infrastructure, the common people become more aware of
the surroundings.

We would love to find what is happening in other regions?
