a.. Criteria for evaluating educational software/multimedia products: I would be interested in your views as to what is important (the priorities) when evaluating software/multimedia material. This is a line of enquiry that I am following for a masters assignment (MSc Computer Based Learning/Training at Southampton University). Recent research suggests that the 'evaluation checklist' approach is not a rigorous enough tool in determining the suitability of educational software, as often the key issues of learning theories/learning styles/learner access are not given priority over other more technical (ICT) considerations. The British Education Communication Technology agency (BECTa/NCET www.becta.org.uk) CD-ROM checklist is an example that has recently been examined (Squires, D. & Preece, J., Computers in Education, Vol.27, No.1, pp16-17 (1996)).
I would be interested in hearing from you. Any comments if quoted would only be done so in context of the question asked.

b.. thanks
