Dear John & Kevin,
                Topclass is an authoring environment which also offers a
mechanism for content authoring & delivery, not just the communication
aspects of groupware. In fact Blackboard, Southrock's GEM and many others
offer similar functionlity but according to different paradigms and with
different interface features. The trap is to get used to one and judge
others by it as a defacto standard. Think about issues like the
modifiability of the interface, back-end integration with other databases,
and IMS compliance in order to judge the product.
