Dear Cathy and ifets members, I would like to respond to the access
discussion
I'm afraid I'm another lurker, this time though I think I will try a response. I work
at the University of Salford as a member of a team implementing 'flexible
learning'. I am looking at gender equity and learning as my PhD topic, I am
very interested in what you have been saying and therefore would like a copy
please of anything you have written so far. As Universities 'push' towards using
more technology in the learning process I am interested in what impact this
may have on female learners. I am currently evaluating a web based module
which I have designed with a lecturer here at the University of Salford. Gender
is one of the criteria against which we are evaluating. We will be looking at the
question of access amongst other issues. If you are interested we will be
happy to share our results with others.

Cathy this is a worthwhile point, I would be very interested in discussing this
further with others who are researching this area. I have found a great deal of
research about gender and technology and gender in the classroom. When we
look at gender in Higher Education and the use of technology I am finding there
is much less written. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be
grateful.
