This is in response to Cathy Burke's comments about women competing with
other family members for time and space access to computers in the home.
The majority of my Internet students are women with families and jobs.
Although I have never formally asked about their levels of access, the
issue usually arises in class discussions. Many of these women do their
course work and other Internet interactions either late at night after
the rest of the family has gone to bed or very early in the morning
before other members are up. In fact, several have referred to these
hours as "my time."

As a "mature female learner" with access issues in my own home, I would
love to join Cathy in researching this issue.
