Dear IFETS Forum Members,
"sometimes in online learning it is difficult to have the same pedagogy
style as the traditional learning. . ." but I also agree that's not
necessarily bad. Online learning can be "pedagogically" sound and a well
designed interactive online course can come close to simulating the
classroom experience. In some cases more of the students in the
interactive online course "engage" the subject than when sitting
in a live class and letting the discussion go on around them.
Yes, Pedagogically online learning and traditional learning are different.
but, as learning through lurking and time to time stimulating the
dialogues are good method.. The online learning and teaching environment
did not have to be built of bricks and boards. It could be constructed in
software. It could be virtual! In an era when many teachers and students
have their own microcomputers, it was no longer necessary for them to
travel to a classroom..the classroom could come to them, over their
telephone lines and through their computer. In order to be considered a
Virtual Classroom, a computer system must support all or most of the types
of communication and learning activists available in the traditional
(physical) classroom and campus (http://telecampus.edu).
