>QUESTION #1 Is there any face2face, classroom time requirement in your
>class?

Yes, we call our DE course, "flexible delivery" a term used to refer to DE
delivery in australia. We like it better as DE implies distance between
participants and instructor all the time. May=ny DE courses bring people
togther at different times. We meet weekly for 10 weeks for 2 hour
"learning circles" which are face to face on site. For another course that
we offer in an off site, rural location, the participants meet in a central
rural location and self facilitate their own weekly learning Circles.
Faculty support through e-mail and phone and by going to the off-site
location and conducting a course orientation. Both models are running
successfully.

>QUESTION #2 What is the approval process for a distance education course?
>Is it the same or different
>from the academic approval process for campus-based courses?

Identical

>QUESTION #3 Regarding the tuition/fees for distance education courses, do
>students pay the same for
> distance ed courses versus on-campus courses? (Are there
>additional
>charges?) Same fees (although students have indicated that they thought
>they should pay less as the instructor was not there all the time!) In
>fact, instructor support and prep. takes as much time as you are
>responding to students individually and typing not speaking responses.
>Also materials must be very carefully written and organized....you are not
>there to "defuzzify". This takes more time. The links must all be made in
>the text, everything has to be clear and self explanatory.
>
>QUESTION #4 Do out-of-state students pay an out-of-state tuition?

Hmmmmm. Interasting question. Haven't had any out of country students yet.
I would think yes.
