Dr. Rosen.
  As in many of the classes that I have taken, people do not participate
on lists and or CMC discussions unless there is a relvance to the
subject and a need for the conversation. Simply doing it for a grade
rather negates the true purpose of CMC as a learning tool. Though I do
grant your the point of techno-illiteracy being a problem.
