Hi! My name is Paulette Robinson and I am a PhD student at
the University of Maryland in the Higher Education Program
specializing in curriculum and instructional technology . I
am doing a phenomenological dissertation on student
experiences in web-based computer conferencing. My
dissertation is different in that it is in a web-based
format where the reader can start anywhere in the
dissertation and end anywhere. All of the menus are
animated and circular to promote choice. I am inlcuding
poetry, animation, sounds, images, etymology pieces, and of
course interlinked texts.
I am the editor of a book Web-based Computer Conferencing:
A Guide for Higher Education (out with reviewers). I have
been teaching a COmputers for Teachers class this year and
the website for the projects and annoted websites is:

I am a poet and an artist. You can see one of my poetic

For my graduate assistantship, I have been teaching faculty
at the UMCP in how to use WebCT (a web-based course
management tool) in their teaching.
My interests are fairly broad. I have been most interested
in online learning environments and how to improve the
quality of the instruction for students.
