The Army is the DOD leader in Distance Learning. Probably have invested and programmed more resources than any other training
institution in the world...... Have 26 service schools spread throughout the US and extensive overseas networks. Virtually all Army
training will be influenced by DL. Have hundreds of products available and courses that are delivered world-wide. The Army
Doctrine and Training Digital Library, Distance Learning Home Page and the Army Distance Learning Plan can be accessed through the
Deputy Chief of Staff For Training home page www-dcst.monroe.army.mil It provides the Army Definition for what it is worth.

Good day, I have just joined this forum and would like to introduce myself
and pose a question. I read the welcome that Dr. Kinshuk sent so I assume
that I am not out of line in what I am doing.
My name is Karen L Pagel, live in New Mexico, USA and I work for NMSU, at
one of their branches as a math teacher. This is my 11th year. I am
interested in working with adults and distance learning.
This semester I have a little released time to work on distance learning
and I am also taking an online course offered through NMSU graduate
department, entitled Design of Distance Learning Courses With Merging
Technologies.
One of our activities is to "construct a definition of distance learning,"
talking to anyone we chose, using any source of information available to us.
Do those of you on the list have any ideas or sources that you can refer me to.
