Actually the human equivalent
?or is it?
to computers? is both RAM - easily erased, or
short term, ROM - ex. breathing "autonomic",
FLASH/programmed caching through strong neutral pathways
and repetition - long term memory.
Humans really operate on a biochemical/electrical
system where computers generally used are electrical/
magnetic/mechanical in nature.
Are their different kinds of CPU and storage devices
then what we "normal" consumers/users currently use?!?
Yep! Check out what is coming down the pike.
You will be amazed!!!
Now these new types of computers may be closer in
comparision to human thinking processes
than you may suspect.
Remember <grin> the brain has voluntary (thinking type
brain areas) vs. involuntary vs. repetitive neural net
areas.
Examples are walking, breathing, problem solving.
BTW did everyone know that it actually takes
*fewer* brain cells to quickly problem
solve vs. the "more traditional thinking on thinking"
that we need to use more brain cells?!?
Look up the recent brain scanning studies of savants.
Quite amazing really. Again science setting
our thinking about thinking on its ear. If you think
about it <grin> and perhaps consider how caching works
it makes "common sense" yes?
We seldom "think" conciously
to walk as in picking up one leg, taking a
step, lifting our other leg, etc. yet we do think
(realize) to say to ourselves conscienciously,
"I want to walk the door"...
and the rest is a more automatic action to how to get to
the door is a part of repetitive and looping programming.
(unless of course rehabitation is a factor to "relearn" how to walk)
