This strikes me as very interesting and useful tool to educators and
scientists. Thoughts?? MIT's Superarchive
A digital repository will revolutionize the way research is shared
and preserved.

While on the one hand I am very supportive of this initiative, the open and
distributed architecture described in this article is not MIT's "genius
stroke" but an idea that developed originally in the Open Archives
Initiative. The OAI is a going concern with a variety of tools already
released and a large user base. I don't know why MIT has to reinvent this
particular wheel (much less why they have to claim to have invented it).
Maybe I'm missing something - I am prepared to be enlightened.
