Call for Manuscripts: The Teacher Educator

Thematic Issue: Technology in Teacher Education

Manuscript Submission Deadline: April 15, 2003

The Teacher Educator (http://www.bsu.edu/tte) focuses on issues, research, and program innovations that relate to preservice teacher preparation and to continued professional development of teachers. A thematic issue on "Technology in Teacher Education" is planned for Autumn 2003.

Educators, federal and state legislative bodies, as well as popular media refer to the need for teachers who are computer literate. This most recent demand for innovation in teacher education, however, has been implemented and studied as a neutral, if not universally beneficial addition to teaching and learning. In a time when teacher educators view learning to teach as a deeply complex, social, and political process, we have yet to fully understand the interactive effects of learning about computer technologies on learning to teach. The Teacher Educator solicits manuscripts that document the various ways in which computer technologies are applied, perceived, and enacted in the teacher education curriculum and in school classrooms where teacher education candidates work. Conceptual as well as empirical scholarship that focuses on aspects of technology and research practice and policy in teacher education are welcomed.

The types of manuscripts that will be reviewed for publication consideration are quantitative, qualitative, and conceptual manuscripts. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines can be found at the Journal's website at http://www.bsu.edu/teachers/services/tte/guidelines.html
