On Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time, we will conduct
the second webcast on a World Future Society presentation originally
webcast Thursday, July 25, 2002 titled, “The University is Dead! Long Live
the University!” The difference between the two webcasts is that since
July 25 I have developed a manuscript on the effects of demography,
globalization, economic restructuring, and information technology on the
function and structure of American colleges and universities. Although the
first webcast was a lecture presentation, the second webcast will focus on
the manuscript derived from that presentation and, therefore, will be
highly interactive. For links to the formal presentation, the discussion
forum following that webcast, the current manuscript, and registration
instructions for the Tuesday webcast, please go to
http://horizon.unc.edu/conferences/ and page down to the WorldView 2002
section.

This webcast is offered as a public service by The Technology Source and
ULiveandLearn. We hope that you can join us Tuesday. If not, the webcast
will be archived and available to you at
http://horizon.unc.edu/conferences/ within a few hours after the webcast.

Many thanks.

Jim
