Mr. Fisher:
rEsource is just that - an online resource... a way to consistently provide
a variety of quality materials to geographically diverse populations in an
effort to improve learning. They are, however, only supplementary to the
learning environment. What has been missing from this discussion (perhaps
because it is really part of another discussion) is how these resources work
within the context of a classroom environment (online or on-ground). Those
interactions, between students and faculty, are not part of rEsource, but
they are significantly enhanced by it and do, ultimately, "generate deeper
learner." The University's goal is not just to offer "hamburgers and
fries," but rather to provide students with a complete menu of options with
which to individualize (and spice up) their own educational "diets."
