Hi Gwen and any other interested,

<<Would you be kind enough to provide the full citation
for Hara and Kling and any other, including sites,
that you are aware of that relate to student and
faculty dissatisfation with online learning.

Thanks,

Gwen>>

The reference is to:

"Students' Frustrations with a Web-Based Distance Education Course" by Noriko
Hara and Rob Kling

First Monday, volume 4, number 12 (December 1999),
URL: http://firstmonday.org/issues/issue4_12/hara/index.html

Hara & Kling would not agree that there's a *lot* of literature around on why
on-line learning doesn't work. Their article begins by asserting exactly the
opposite, and they "wonder aloud" why the topic is taboo and [empirically]
relatively unresearched.

Of course Web-based DE is so new, there's quite a research learning curve to
climb before lines of empirical inquiry can be said to have been solidly
built. And there is *some* literature on student and faculty dissatisfaction
with Web-based DE.
